These terms apply to your use of Freemason (the "site"). By using the site you agree to them.
1. The site
The site offers information about Freemasonry: the three degrees with their symbols and handbooks, the origins of the Craft, a library of historic Masonic books, and the Masonic Course with lessons, exams and certificates. Much of it can be read without an account; full access to the library and the course requires a pass or a course purchase.
2. Independent, for study
This is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for any Grand Lodge, Supreme Council or Masonic lodge. Its content is for study and general information. A certificate from the course shows that you passed the course's exam; it is not a Masonic degree, membership or recognition by any lodge.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. An account and a pass are personal: do not share them. Give a correct e-mail address, and use your real name on certificates. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
4. Passes, the course and payment
- Prices are shown in euros on the Passes page. You pay through Stripe.
- Your access starts immediately after payment. The Day Pass is a one-off payment. The Week, Month, Quarter and Year Pass and the complete course renew automatically at the end of each period until you stop the renewal under My account; a period you paid for always runs to its end.
- Because access to digital content starts right away at your request, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal ends once access has begun. If something went wrong with a payment, contact us and we will look at it fairly.
- Certificates you earn stay valid and verifiable.
5. Fair use
Do not misuse the site: do not try to break, overload or scrape it, guess passwords, get around paid access, or use it for anything unlawful or harmful. We may block access that does.
6. Translations and AI
The site is written in English. Translations into other languages are made by machine translation (OpenAI and Microsoft Azure Translator), and the images and voices of the films are made with the help of AI. These can contain mistakes; the English text is leading.
7. Rights
The books in the library are historic works held in a public Google Drive collection; their rights stay with their holders. The site's own design, software, texts, course and films belong to its operator. You may read and share what you find here for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy the course, its questions or the films for other purposes without permission.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available, but cannot guarantee it is always online, and we may change or remove features.
9. Liability
The site is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, or for decisions made based on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the competent Dutch court, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
11. Contact
The site is run by Micro-Touch & Consult, Egmond aan Zee, Netherlands, KvK 32061848. Questions about these terms: jaap.zwart@microtouchconsult.com, or use the Support form.
